LoadComplete’s internal studio, CQ LABS, has officially brought their desktop idle RPG, Crusader Quest: Hero Town, to Steam as of the 31st.

Crusader Quest: Hero Town takes the established world of the mobile original and shrinks it down into a desktop idle experience. You collect and cultivate over 100 fan-favourite heroes from the original title, all managing their affairs in a quaint little village at the bottom of your PC screen. It is designed to run quietly in the background, allowing you to watch the heroes battle and the village thrive while you tackle your actual work or studies. Beyond the passive nature of the game, there is a surprising amount to dig into, including passive synergy systems based on party composition, boss encounters, customisable village layouts, and even PvP for those who fancy a bit of competition. It’s a clever blend of idle convenience and robust content.

LoadComplete has been testing the waters for the Crusader Quest IP on PC for a while now. They previously dropped a demo for the auto-battler Crusader Quest: Merge Chess and released the free-to-play clicker, Crusader Quest: MINI. The latter actually performed quite well, boasting a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam with 84% approval. Building on that foundation, Crusader Quest: Hero Town arrives as the first paid PC entry in the series, offering a much deeper combat and progression system than its predecessors.

A spokesperson for the CQ LABS team stated, "We intend to keep leveraging the lore and assets of the Crusader Quest universe to bring even more diverse and charming titles to players." The game is available now on PC with support for five languages: Korean, English, Japanese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. They also plan to flesh out the experience with future downloadable content (DLC), adding more heroes and features from the original game over time.
