Krafton’s Unknown Worlds is hosting a 'Free Play Weekend' and a series-wide discount event ahead of the early access launch of its open-world survival crafting game, Subnautica 2. This event is designed to help players familiarize themselves with the series before the release of the sequel.

Players can play Subnautica for free via Steam and the Epic Games Store from April 3 to April 7. On Xbox, the free play event will run from April 10 to April 13.

Additionally, a special series discount promotion is being held. On Steam, Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero will be available at a 75% discount from April 3 to April 10, while the Epic Games Store will offer the same discount from April 1 to April 8. On Xbox, both titles will be available at a 50% discount from April 3 to April 16.

Subnautica 2 is the official sequel to the ocean survival series. The game is set on a new alien planet and utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to vividly bring its unknown ecosystem to life. Notably, it introduces a four-player co-op mode for the first time in the series, allowing players to devise survival strategies and share exploration achievements with friends.

Ted Gill, CEO of Unknown Worlds, stated, "If you haven't experienced the enchanting world of Subnautica yet, I hope you take this opportunity to play it," adding, "We ask for your continued interest and participation in the upcoming early access launch of Subnautica 2."

Subnautica 2 is scheduled to launch in early access later this year.
