Han Jun-ho, running in the Democratic Party's primary for Gyeonggi Governor, has pledged to turn the gaming and e-sports industries into the primary engines of Gyeonggi's growth.

Han stated that gaming is the core of K-content and an industry competing on the global stage, while also noting that e-sports has established itself as a new form of competition enjoyed by people around the world.

First, he plans to nurture game startups to reach annual revenues of over 10 billion KRW. His plan aims to simultaneously solve the issues of developers losing growth momentum by giving up equity during the development process, and the problem of companies disappearing from the market due to limitations in distribution and marketing. Han announced that he would protect the minimum equity of developers and build a structure that connects them with publishers to facilitate marketing and distribution.

He also diagnosed the current game industry as being overly concentrated on specific genres and platforms, emphasizing the need for investment in new genres and methods. He plans to foster industry diversity and innovation by creating an environment where developers can attempt to restart after failure.

Regarding the e-sports industry, he pointed out that even for popular titles like League of Legends, the sustainability of team operations is insufficient, stating that structural improvements are necessary.

Accordingly, he plans to support training and operation spaces by utilizing idle public facilities, attract e-sports teams, and build an ecosystem where the industry and local regions grow together by revitalizing home games based on local ties.

Han Jun-ho stated, "What is important now is who will grow this industry and how," adding, "I will make Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do, the heart of the global game industry." He continued, "I will start the future of gaming and e-sports in Gyeonggi-do and prove it with results."
