With the arrival of the new hero 'Landgrid' and the rework of 'Teo', their pick rates have plummeted. As the Attack Deck cements its status, the Defensive Deck has—somewhat unexpectedly—seen a resurgence. The trio of 'Sun Wukong, Landgrid, and Palanus' now dominates the arena with a pick rate exceeding 64%. Landgrid herself debuted with a 31.7% pick rate. Let’s dive into the stats and team compositions.

Is the Defensive Deck the real winner of the 'Landgrid/Teo' update?

The new offensive hero Landgrid has had a promising start, securing a 31.3% pick rate and landing in 5th place overall. Meanwhile, Teo has finally climbed back to 6th place. Thanks to some rather significant buffs, he is now frequently paired with 'Lu Bu' and 'Branz & Branzel', who share that 6th-place spot.

The hero pushed out by Teo’s return is none other than 'Kyle'. Sharing the same role and similar survivability, Kyle simply couldn't compete with Teo’s new kit. Players are particularly impressed by Teo’s new mechanic: once four enemies fall, he immediately triggers 'Black Wing Full Moon Slash', regardless of the turn order.

The Magic Deck, lacking natural survivability, has been left helpless. They’ve historically relied on the 'Immortal' ring effect to cling to life, but Teo is the perfect counter. As soon as four enemies drop, his passive kicks in, clearing buffs and punishing those relying on that 'Immortal' status.

With the Magic Deck bowing out, the environment is ripe for a Defensive Deck comeback. It’s a natural shift, as they hold the advantage over the current Attack Decks. The Attack Deck attempted to break this barrier with Landgrid, but she’s not quite enough yet. While she can reliably snipe frontline tanks, the sheer volume of survival and healing skills in a defensive build is a tough nut to crack. Breaking through against a sibling like Landgrid is no easy feat. With defensive counters currently scarce, the Magic Deck's last shred of hope rests on a potential 'Rin' rework.

The 'Attack vs. Defense' rivalry returns

This meta shift has put formations and pets in a state of flux. While 'Balanced' and 'Attack' formations have seen a dip, the 'Basic' and 'Protection' formations—favoured by Attack Decks—have gained ground. Still, the Attack formation remains the leader at 47%. It seems most decks are converging on similar setups these days.

Pets, however, tell a clearer story. 'Lu', central to the current defensive meta, dominates with a 59.3% pick rate. Adding 'Karam' and 'Pike' from the lower tiers, the total defensive pet presence hits 64.6%, mirroring the 64.7% pick rate of Sun Wukong and Landgrid. On the flip side, the Attack Deck relies on 'Yu' and 'Irin', accounting for 34%. The 1:1 tug-of-war is clear.

Our Best Pick this week isn't a defensive unit, but the Attack Deck itself. It’s leading the meta evolution and constantly adapting. Whether Landgrid can be the ultimate answer to enemy tanks remains the big question to watch.

It’s nearly flawless, but it has one glaring weakness: the mirror match. Landgrid’s skill set feels a bit underwhelming when facing another Attack Deck. Players are essentially praying their own Landgrid doesn't waste her cooldowns. You’ll need to be tactical about whether to field her depending on the expected opponent. Against defensive builds, she’s a beast, but in a mirror, you’re banking on Lu Bu or Teo to do the heavy lifting.

'Banbul' claims the solo lead in Round 11

As the Attack Deck gains momentum, Total War rankings are shifting. The current trend is a mix of 2 Attack, 2 Defense, and 1 Magic deck. A player named 'Banbul' has pulled ahead in the Legend tier to take the top spot, utilizing the Landgrid and Teo combo.

Their fourth party is particularly interesting, featuring three offensive heroes. By bringing in 'Trude' and 'Colt', they are clearly prepared for a long game, while 'Ace' is there to shut down enemy healing—a clever answer to defensive setups.

Real-time Arena Analysis

1st Place 'Geonppang’s' Attack Deck Strategy

The Magic Deck is struggling in the Real-time Arena, too. 'Geonppang' has reached a staggering 10,865 points by leaning on the aforementioned Attack and Landgrid-led defensive teams. They are currently the main target for other rankers. While things are smooth sailing for now, the unpredictable nature of Real-time Arena means a surprise counter-meta could emerge at any moment.

Despite the pressure, 'Geonppang’s' calm execution is impressive. Even after losing the initiative and being hit with 'Jury’s' debuffs, they secured the win. The typical flow involves Lu Bu clearing the field followed by a Teo finish. While standard Arena relies on auto-skill queuing, Real-time Arena allows you to time these strategies manually.

The key is timing Lu Bu’s 'Red Hare Gale' based on the enemy’s HP, then setting up Teo’s follow-up. Keeping Teo alive is essential. 'Geonppang' also utilizes 'Blood Wind Wall' and 'Liberation - Snake Hunt' to keep the enemy in check with status effects.

Seven Knights Re:BIRTH User Poll

Last week, we asked you to pick your favourite day based on the birthdays of our SKRB heroes in April. It was a tight race between Tuesday and Saturday.
