Starfield has seen its daily peak concurrent players jump by 2.5 times following the launch of its new DLC, 'Terran Armada'.

Starfield, Bethesda's ambitious sci-fi open-world adventure RPG, arrived with the weight of massive expectation to carry the studio's legacy. Yet, at its 2023 launch, the game faced a barrage of criticism for its lack of freedom, questionable optimization, absence of Korean support, and a marketing campaign that felt rather overcooked. As of the 8th, its Steam user score remains trapped in 'Mixed' territory, with a 58% approval rating out of 112,390 reviews.

Bethesda promised a redemption arc in a March online showcase, unveiling the free 'Free Reigns' update and the 'Terran Armada' story DLC. Alongside a surprise tease for a PS5 release, they introduced several new features. The 'Free Reigns' update includes a 'Cruise Mode' for direct interplanetary travel, while 'Terran Armada' introduces a hostile new faction threatening the settled systems, bringing fresh combat and content to the table. This flurry of activity has propelled Starfield to 6th place in the global top sellers chart.

Since the update hit on the 8th, 'Free Reigns' has earned praise for its Cruise Mode, quality-of-life improvements for New Game Plus, and expanded customization. With the new DLC bundled for free for Premium Edition owners, Starfield's daily peak concurrent players, which usually hovered around 7,500, surged to 19,914. The DLC’s user reviews are currently 'Mostly Positive' (73% approval from 100 reviews), and the numbers are climbing.

Elsewhere, 'Road to Vostok', which launched on the 7th, has clawed its way to 2nd place on the global top sellers list, thanks to its gritty atmosphere and palpable tension. Set in the border zone between Finland and Russia, this hardcore single-player survival game is currently bolstered by a 25% discount. Meanwhile, Slay the Spire has managed to claw back its reputation in 3rd place, while Crimson Desert maintains its hold at the top.

In the upper echelons of the daily peak concurrent players, Valve’s new title 'Deadlock' landed in 19th place with 78,719 players. Bongo Cat climbed from 10th to 8th, hitting 152,974 players. House Flipper, having lost the momentum of its free giveaway, has fallen out of the top 20 with 61,578 players.
