Smilegate and developer Super Creative have released a pre-season update for their dark fantasy roguelike RPG, Chaos Zero Nightmare, on the 9th, introducing a new combatant named Diana and a fresh game mode called Total War.

Diana is a 'Hunter' class combatant with the 'Passion' attribute, specializing in wearing down foes through relentless pressure. By discarding cards, you can trigger 'Resonance'—which deals additional damage to enemies—or 'Rest', which allows for tactical combos when discarding specific keyword cards. She is joined by a new partner, Sophia, who assists your combatants with bonus attacks whenever specific cards are sent to the discard pile.

The update also rolls out the 'Total War' content, a mode that lets you revisit boss monsters from the Great Rift for rewards. You will need to put together three separate teams to take on the three distinct bosses featured in this mode.

The pre-season period offers a preview of the upcoming 'Season 3: Song Echoing in the Galaxy', allowing players to get an early look at the Season Chaos and secure save data. Additionally, the developers have implemented overall improvements to the partner system, added combatant-specific lobby perks, and introduced a new Unigram story.

To celebrate the update, a flurry of events is underway. Running until the 29th, 'Operation Fire Break' lets you earn rewards by playing Chaos stages; you can even spend combatant save data to activate 'Phase Projection' buffs to gain an edge in battle. Meanwhile, the 'Love at the Tip of the Wings' event invites you to solve mysteries alongside Diana for exclusive achievements. For those keeping an eye on the calendar, the half-anniversary pre-event has launched a special page where you can reap rewards based on your Aether expenditure.
