The LCK has decided not to impose any sanctions on Park 'Ruler' Jae-hyuk. After careful review, they concluded that Ruler's actions did not violate LCK regulations regarding criminal conduct, immoral behaviour, or damage to the league's reputation.

On May 1st, the LCK released the results of their investigation into Ruler's tax-related issues via the official League of Legends esports website. The controversy stems from a Tax Tribunal ruling, which identified tax evasion regarding labour costs paid to his father for management services, as well as stock trading and dividend income under his father's name. This became public knowledge on March 26th, prompting the LCK to launch an investigation on April 1st.

Ultimately, the LCK found no grounds for sanctions. Regarding the 'criminal conduct' clause, the league stated that it only applies to acts involving criminal liability or equivalent illegality. As there was no evidence of tax evasion as defined by the Tax Offenders Punishment Act, nor any ongoing criminal investigations or charges, they could not justify a penalty. They specifically noted that no evidence of 'tax evasion via evidence tampering' was found.

As for the 'immoral behaviour and reputational damage' clause, the LCK remained firm that it was inapplicable. They reasoned that the administrative processes regarding tax reassessment and payment obligations have concluded, and that the statute of limitations for LCK penalties has already expired. They clarified that these administrative processes also encompass the 'appeals procedures initiated by the taxpayer'.

In essence, the LCK views Ruler's situation as a standard 'tax-related administrative matter'. The league stated, "Matters involving routine tax administrative procedures, such as tax adjustments or additional tax payments, are not subject to LCK regulations or league-level disciplinary action. However, we will strictly address any cases involving clear violations of law that carry criminal liability or equivalent illegality."

Ruler's team, Gen.G, released an official statement on May 2nd. "Gen.G Esports humbly accepts criticism regarding this matter and will work to improve where we have fallen short. However, as we have a responsibility to protect our players, we are actively supporting the legal counsel representing the player in responding to any unverified claims."
