Krafton CEO CH Kim has released update 41.2 for 'PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS', introducing the new PvE mode, 'PAYDAY'. This limited-time co-op content was developed in collaboration with Starbreeze Entertainment, the developer of the PAYDAY IP.

In the PAYDAY mode, players form a team of up to four to infiltrate a target location, secure loot, and execute an escape operation. Players can choose between stealth play and direct combat depending on the situation, with class-based role distribution and teamwork serving as key elements. The mode is available from May 13 to June 17.

Players can choose from various classes, including Assault, Medic, Defender, Sniper, and Infiltrator, each with unique abilities. By utilizing class-specific ultimates and gadgets, players can buff themselves and their team, and unlock new skills and weapons by securing more loot. Inspired by PAYDAY 3 missions, players will secure objectives such as cash, gold bars, and jewels in various operation areas like 'The Exchange', 'Diamond District', 'Nightclub', and 'Road Rage', while fending off security forces to complete the escape operation.

Along with this update, the 'Event Pass: PAYDAY' has been introduced. Players can obtain PAYDAY gang-themed items and various rewards through the event pass. Tae-Hyun Kim, PUBG Studio Director, stated, "We aimed to provide a strategic, team-based play experience that goes beyond the existing battle royale," adding, "Through our collaboration with Starbreeze Entertainment, we are presenting a new heist experience by adding the depth of the PAYDAY IP to the signature tension of PUBG." Adolf Kristjansson, CEO of Starbreeze AB, remarked, "It is very meaningful to bring the thrill and teamwork experience of the PAYDAY franchise to PUBG."

Additionally, PUBG has implemented updates including ▲ the introduction of new execution motions using melee weapons, ▲ the addition of a secret room in the Miramar map, and ▲ the release of the new Survivor Pass: 'Animals in the City'. The original song 'Baby Driver', a collaboration with global artist '070 Shake', was unveiled through the PAYDAY mode trailer. 070 Shake will visit Korea on May 16 to perform a live stage at PUBG Seongsu, hosted by Dayoung of the group WJSN.
