MercurySteam and publisher 505 Games have released their dark fantasy action-adventure title, 'Blades of Fire', on Steam. This Steam version includes the version 2.0 update, which brings major improvements, new achievements, and full Steam Deck support. Version 2.0 is also available as a free upgrade on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Epic Games Store.

In Blades of Fire, players experience a world where metal turns to stone and the power of the blade dictates everything. The protagonist is Aran de Lira, the last surviving warrior capable of forging true steel. Combat requires wisdom rather than just brute force, and players must strategically build their arsenal through a journey of mastery. As there are no retries, the process of precisely forging weapons with care is crucial. Combat is deliberate, heavy, and unforgiving, so observing opponents, exploiting weaknesses, and striking at the right moment is the key to victory. Strategic and observant warriors will prevail, while those who fight recklessly will meet a tragic end.

The version 2.0 update introduces new content, providing fresh experiences and challenges with every playthrough. In 'New Game Plus' mode, players can restart Aran's adventure while retaining most progress and stats. Enemies will scale to the player's health, increasing the difficulty. Aran can prepare for this by utilizing 27 'New Game Plus' exclusive forging statues to unlock new weapon parts. Additionally, a brutal difficulty setting called 'Titanium Mode' has been added, recommended only for skilled warriors. In this mode, players face enemies with increased health, defense, and 20% higher attack power, and boss mechanics are retuned to be even more demanding.
