SOOP will begin the '2026 GSL (Global StarCraft 2 League) Season 2', featuring 'StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void', on the 20th. This season spans approximately three weeks, starting with the Round of 12 Group A matches on May 20th and concluding with the finals on June 7th. Intel is participating as the main sponsor, with the StarCraft 2 pro team Onside also joining as a sponsor.

The GSL has been the premier StarCraft 2 league for 17 years, running since 2010. The Round of 12 will be held in a 4-player dual tournament format, with all matches played as best-of-three. Players who passed the qualifiers and advanced to the Round of 12 include Cure (Kim Do-wook), sOs (Kim Yoo-jin), SHIN (Shin Hee-beom), ByuN (Byun Hyun-woo), Classic (Kim Do-woo), GuMiho (Ko Byung-jae), Zoun (Park Han-sol), and Solar (Kang Min-soo). herO (Kim Joon-ho), Clem (Clément Desplanches), Maru (Cho Seong-ju), and Rogue (Lee Byung-ryul) have received seeds for the Round of 8 and will advance directly to the main stage.

The Round of 12 Group A matches on May 20th will feature Cure, sOs, SHIN, and ByuN. SHIN, who finished as the runner-up in Season 1, is challenging for the title once again, and attention is focused on the performance of sOs, who passed the intense qualifiers. The Round of 12 Group B matches, held on the 21st (Thu), will feature Classic, Solar, GuMiho, and Zoun. With unique players such as the top-tier Protoss player Classic and the strategically-minded GuMiho competing, a variety of match dynamics are expected.

The Round of 8 matches will take place on the 27th and 28th at 6:30 PM. The semi-finals and finals will be held on June 7th at 5:00 PM at the 'FreecUP Studio' in Daechi-dong, Seoul. The Round of 12 and Round of 8 will be held online, while the semi-finals onwards will be played offline. Tickets for on-site viewing can be purchased via Ticketlink.
