Kakao Games has just dropped a fresh update for its MMORPG, ArcheAge War, introducing the new skill-swapping class 'Illusionist' and the second iteration of its growth-focused server, 'Barua Season 2'.

The Illusionist isn't your typical glass cannon; it’s a new class available to existing Mages via skill swapping. Rather than raw damage, it’s all about tactical nuance. You’ll be using the unique 'Link' status effect to debuff foes or buff allies, alongside a suite of crowd control skills like Float II and Bind to keep the battlefield under your thumb.

Then we have the 'Barua Season 2' server. Think of it as a fast-track lane for your character, featuring permanent buffs to XP and gold gain. This time around, they’ve cranked up the XP rates for players hitting level 70 and beyond. You can snag Hero-grade gear in the exclusive gold shop, and there are plenty of events running to help you hunt down Legendary armour and summon tickets.

New 'Tablet' and 'Crest' gear systems have also arrived. These are growth-oriented items that you level up using materials earned from quests and monster hunting. As you push these through their growth stages, your character's stats will see a nice little bump.

For the completionists, there’s a new Primordial-grade passive skill available to every class. It grants a chance for guaranteed-hit bonus damage. To craft the necessary 'Eanad's Ink (Primordial)', you'll need to combine Legendary-grade ink and other materials at the Anvil of Evolution.

Beyond the big additions, the team has tweaked XP efficiency in the Sea of Yearning and the Forbidden Labyrinth, while adding the new 'Deep Blue Crescent Stone' to the rewards list for Kalevar's Cart content.

To celebrate, they are hosting a variety of events. All servers are getting a 'Illusionist & Barua Season 2 Update Summon Ticket Giveaway' and a 'Magic Blessing Box' event to keep your pockets full of growth materials. The Barua Season 2 server has its own dedicated events, too, where you can grind for Legendary summon tickets and support gear.

For those playing on the global integrated realm 'Gdelon', expect attendance events and 'Season 6 of the Lucky Key', offering legendary crafting blueprints and legendary summon ticket selection boxes.
