Onimusha: Path of the Sword, originally scheduled for release on September 25, will arrive three weeks earlier than expected. The new launch date is September 4.

Capcom announced the release date change for 'Onimusha: Path of the Sword' on July 2. With the date moved up from September 25 to September 4, digital pre-order bonuses will now be provided as early-purchase bonuses. As there are also special bonuses for demo save data, the company urges players not to delete the demo or its save data until the full game is released.

Onimusha: Path of the Sword is the latest entry in the Onimusha series, following protagonist Miyamoto Musashi as he battles the Genma in a Kyoto twisted by malevolent forces. Various Genma such as Dohatsuten and one-eyed straw-hatted demons appear, alongside powerful enemies like Sasaki Ganryu and Rashogan. The game features sword-fighting action that emphasizes the thrill of the blade, including combat using the power of the Oni and the 'Issen' mechanic that rewards split-second timing.

Players can experience various actions, such as absorbing souls to gain supernatural strength or unleash hidden abilities, switching between agile one-handed strikes and heavy two-handed swings, and mastering defensive techniques like parrying and deflections. The 'Oni Weapon' special move, which uses the power of the Oni gained by absorbing blue souls, is also included.

Onimusha: Path of the Sword will be released on September 4 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with official Korean language support.
