The PvP shooter Marvel Rivals is gearing up for its new season, 'Mystery of Thebes', launching on July 10.

This season introduces Jubilee, a member of the X-Men, as a new Strategist character. As a support-focused hero, Jubilee uses pyrotechnics to heal allies while simultaneously blocking enemy vision or inflicting damage, and she showcases a flashy firework display with her ultimate ability.

Season 9 also brings a massive overhaul to the team-up skill system. Every hero now comes equipped with two team-up abilities, allowing for both base and enhanced effects. The developers are also restoring classic team-up moves like 'Metallic Chaos'. Meanwhile, the popular duelist Black Widow is getting a significant kit rework to freshen up the playstyle, and the new hero, The Hood, will join the roster later in the season.

On July 23, the new escort map 'Thebes' will be revealed. Following that, on July 30, the game will launch a new mode titled 'Path to Ruin: Avengers: Age of Ultron', where players can experience the battlefield and narrative of the film. Additionally, various events for players will be held in the in-game Times Square lobby area.

The global esports tournament, Ignite Mid-Season Final, will be held in Los Angeles from July 29 to August 1. Ten teams selected from around the globe will clash for the year's first championship trophy. A total of 8 Korean players are participating, including the all-Korean roster of team Reject.
