SOOP will host the ASL Season 22 Season Open on the 18th, featuring Blizzard Entertainment’s RTS 'StarCraft: Remastered'. This tournament is an open event where anyone can compete for a spot in the upcoming ASL main stage, regardless of their existing ASL points.

The winner of each round will receive a prize of 1,000,000 KRW and a direct seed into the ASL Season 22 Round of 24. Notable players who have been active in the ASL, such as Jaedong, Jang Yoon-chul, Do Jae-wook, and Kim Yoon-hwan, have already registered. Given the nature of the open tournament, it will feature high-level matches as established pros compete alongside new challengers.

The tournament will be held in a one-day format, determining the winner from qualifiers to the finals in a single day. As every match is a best-of-one, the unpredictability of the results and the emergence of new strategies are key points to watch. Additionally, the new maps to be used in ASL Season 22 will be introduced for the first time during this Season Open.

Fans can get a preview of the players' strategies on the new maps before the official ASL season begins. The Season Open will consist of two rounds; the first will be broadcast live on July 18th, and the second on July 25th, both starting at 1:00 PM.
