NEXON announced on the 23rd that it has applied its second summer update to MapleStory, which includes new skill cores. The update introduces the third 6th-job skill core for all classes, including the new class, Lethe. Once a character completes their 6th-job advancement, they can activate and enhance these cores using Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments, allowing players to highlight the unique combat identity of their chosen class.

Furthermore, the summer season event 'Mission: Ultima' has received a fresh injection of content. First up is 'Ultima Squad,' an auto-battle mini-game running until August 19. Players can train and deploy mercenaries to clear 30 combat stages, and they can earn EXP and currency through auto-battles even while offline. Those hard-earned coins can be traded for Sol Erda, Sol Erda Fragments, and high-tier EXP coupons.

During that same period, the 'Merchant Guild Supply Support 2' event is also live. By taking down monsters within your level range, you'll snag extra chunks of EXP and Sol Erda Energy. The team is also refining the system, expanding the maximum core level for Etherion Artifacts and boosting the associated benefits. Until September 16, players can participate in the 'Hazel's Request' event specifically for the new Lethe class, and a new 'Momentum Pass' has been introduced for those with characters at level 280 or higher.

System overhauls have arrived alongside the content. NEXON has shifted the 'Coloring Prism Pro' and 'Weapon Effect Prism' to permanent sales while adding an unlimited re-dyeing feature. The damage cap has been pushed from 700 billion to 10 trillion. Combat environments have also been improved by removing unnecessary elements that interfere with combat when a boss is in an immobilized state.

Additionally, a premium PC bang connection event runs from the 24th through August 20. Participants can earn mileage, Sol Erda Fragments, and up to 6,000 high-tier EXP coupons based on cumulative playtime. There is also a 'Premium Gift Shop' where you can spend coins gathered from hunting level-appropriate mobs. Finally, to celebrate the launch of the new character 'Ren' in MapleStory M, an event runs from the 30th to August 26; hitting specific level milestones will net your linked NEXON ID a variety of rewards.
