Blizzard Entertainment pulled back the curtain on the 12.1 update for World of Warcraft: Midnight, titled 'Curse of Ula’tek,' this past August 13.

The mist obscuring the islands east of Zul'Aman has finally lifted, revealing the mysterious 'Coiled Isle.' Players are expected to brave its venomous caverns and unearth the long-buried secrets of the Amani.

We are also seeing the introduction of 'Lair,' an evolution of the traditional outdoor boss experience. It kicks off with 'The Tidebound Grotto,' which scales from an open-world difficulty into 15 to 25-player instanced encounters.

Alongside this, 'Altar of Fangs' makes its debut—a fresh dungeon featuring three bosses. It launches today with Mythic 0 difficulty, and will be folded into the Mythic+ rotation when Midnight Season 2 arrives on August 20.

Once Season 2 kicks off, players can look forward to a fresh Mythic+ dungeon pool and a new raid, 'The Venomous Abyss,' where they will face off against eight bosses, including Ula'tek. The update also brings the Glory of the Arena, the Isle of Naldor, and the new Nemesis Delve, Venomfall Abyss, with 'Bountiful Delves' and keys becoming available from the start of Season 2.

Season 2 of the 'Hunting Ground' brings new affixes and targets, while the second season of PvP also commences. For those just dipping their toes into the arena for the first time, a new bot-match mode has been added.

On the quality-of-life front, cooldown management and ping systems have been overhauled. Furthermore, the housing update now allows players to share indoor and outdoor builds, and a new pet placement feature has been implemented.
