Viper and Carnage Are the Stars of Vampir 1st Anniversary Record

AI Summary
Vampir celebrates its milestone first anniversary with meta shifts. Viper takes the top spot while Carnage and Akasha shine. Conquest rankings reveal fierce clan rivalries.

Look, let us be honest: Vampir has officially hit its first anniversary. It feels like just yesterday we were agonizing over which class to pick while waiting for the servers to open, but time truly flies when you are grinding. KookminTree previously dropped a half-anniversary record breaking down the top ranker shares and fan-favourite classes over the first six months. Now, we are back with the one-year record, covering the class meta from that half-anniversary milestone all the way to August 26.

The standout classes for this one-year anniversary milestone are Viper and Carnage. Viper has managed to snatch the Bloodstain throne as the new number one class, proving immensely popular in both South Korean and global regions. Meanwhile, Carnage has dropped down to the mid-tier, though it continues to flex its muscles in the Narichanye Valley. And we certainly cannot ignore the newly arrived Akasha class either. How has Akasha adapted to the harsh world of Vampir? KookminTree breaks it down using Meca Ranking data and patch notes.

Anniversary Record Part 1: Viper Claims the New Throne

First off, let us dive into the class popularity status in the South Korean region based on Meca Ranking shares. The class that has undergone the most radical shift in standing over the past six months is undoubtedly Viper. To explain this properly, let us briefly flash back to the half-anniversary record, where Bloodstain had an absolute stranglehold on the number one spot in the Meca Ranking for a full six months without ever relinquishing the crown.

The turning point arrived on March 18, exactly a week after the Akasha update dropped. Back then, reigning champion Bloodstain saw its share plummet to 30.4%, while runner-up Viper crept up to 30.1%. After a fierce neck-and-neck race, the tables finally turned on April 8: Bloodstain logged a 30.2% share while Viper edged ahead with 30.5%. There was no looking back after that, cementing Viper as the undisputed most popular class in the South Korean region of Vampir.

From the final Meca Ranking of April onwards, Bloodstain's share has been on a steady downward trajectory. Then came another major hurdle on July 15, when Carnage narrowly overtook Bloodstain by a razor-thin 0.1 percentage point margin. Since then, the Vampir Meca Ranking shares have essentially flatlined with zero movement in the rankings.

Carnage Finds Its Niche in the Narichanye Valley

While Viper has crowned itself the king of the general Meca Ranking, Carnage has carved out its own exclusive domain by dominating the Narichanye Valley season. Introduced on April 8 as a solo PvE mode, Narichanye Valley challenges players to clear waves of monsters and boss fights to climb higher stages. It evolved into a hardcore record-chasing mode when seasonal challenges officially kicked off on June 2.

Carnage did not exactly come out swinging from the get-go, mind you. In Season 1, only two rankers managed to clear stage 30—namely Viper player 'AbigailEndEnd' and Akasha player 'OSCARLuxury'. However, top Carnage rankers started shaving down their clear times by Season 2, and the class finally reaped the rewards in Season 3. It proudly stands as the only class where all top five rankers cleared stage 30 in under three minutes.

The switch made by AbigailEndEnd—who used to ride high as a Viper main before swapping to Carnage—played a massive part in this. While their peak record as a Viper was stage 30 in 2 minutes, 12.4 seconds, switching over to Carnage let them smash through stage 30 in a blistering 1 minute, 46.9 seconds. That makes them the sole sub-two-minute ranker in the Narichanye Valley. It remains to be seen whether Carnage can keep up this terrifying momentum.

On top of all that, Carnage is holding its own in the Meca Ranking as well. Back when the game was a four-class ecosystem without Akasha, it comfortably sat at second place in the South Korean region. It briefly slipped to third when Akasha dropped and Viper took the crown, but clawed its way back to second place by overtaking Bloodstain in the third week of July.

As of the fourth week of August Meca Ranking, the gap between Carnage and third-place Bloodstain sits at a rather close 3.8 percentage points. It is a somewhat precarious lead, but given how stagnant the share fluctuations have been lately, an immediate shake-up seems unlikely. That said, developers teased a upcoming class change ticket during the August live stream, leaving us curious to see how that mechanic will disrupt the ongoing rivalry between the two classes.

Akasha Shakes Up the Meta

We simply cannot talk about the meta without mentioning Akasha, the very first brand-new class added to Vampir. Akasha made a grand entrance alongside the update on March 11, jumping straight into the Vampir Meca Ranking that very same week thanks to the simultaneous release of class change tickets.

A balance patch followed hot on the heels of Akasha's debut, serving as the literal starter pistol for the Meca Ranking shifts. This exact window triggered the rapid narrowing of the gap between Viper and Bloodstain, eventually leading to the throne swap. And how did Akasha fare? It debuted modestly at fifth place with a 1.9% share, but rocketed to 11.4% the following week to leapfrog Reaper. Reaper briefly reclaimed fourth place on April 1, but it was a blink-and-you-miss-it reign as Akasha quickly reclaimed fourth and has held it firmly ever since. The only slightly disappointing bit is that Akasha has yet to breach the 15% share ceiling.

March 11 also marked the grand opening of the global region for Vampir. KookminTree tracks global Meca Rankings too, and the vibe over there is completely different—largely thanks to Akasha. While Akasha is a latecomer in the South Korean region, the global region launched right out of the gate with a five-class ecosystem: Bloodstain, Viper, Carnage, Reaper, and Akasha. For global players, Akasha is a starting choice rather than a late-career pivot.

According to the fourth week of August Meca Ranking, the top global ranker preferences are Viper in first place and Akasha in second. Akasha holds a sturdy 23.4% share, comfortably outperforming third-place Carnage at 17.7%. While Akasha's stake ticked up by 0.5 percentage points, it has not quite been enough to trigger a rank shuffle.

As a bonus, Akasha is also turning out to be an absolute powerhouse in the Narichanye Valley. While Carnage reigns supreme as an undisputed solo act and classes like Bloodstain and Reaper have never even managed to fill out five rankers clearing stage 30, Akasha and Viper boast 22 and 26 players respectively reaching stage 30 as of Season 3, keeping the record competition fierce. We expect great things from them moving forward.

Anniversary Record Part 2: Class Share Breakdown

Bloodstain has experienced the most dramatic rollercoaster in rankings

The Bloodstain Rollercoaster Ride

Let us continue by examining the share fluctuations of each Vampir class between the half-anniversary and the one-year mark. Bloodstain takes the crown for the most dramatic rise and fall, peaking at a massive 39.3%. However, the arrival of Akasha expanded the melee roster to three, and the rollout of class change tickets meant Bloodstain began bleeding market share rapidly. Back on March 11, Bloodstain commanded 38.1% while runner-up Viper sat at 24.5%. Yet just a week later, their shares drastically compressed to 30.4% and 30.1%, paving the way for a royal handover.

Initial share rankings for the global region tallied on March 18

Let us also revisit the global Meca Ranking shares for Vampir. Since Akasha was available right from day one over there, global players did not face the risk of abandoning a chunk of their pre-existing progression like South Korean players did. In fact, the very first Meca Ranking showed Bloodstain at 23.6% in second place and Akasha right behind at 23.3% in third, making it an insanely tight race. A week later, when server creation limits were lifted and more servers were tallied, Akasha flexed its stats to 34.5% and claimed the throne, sliding Bloodstain down to third. By the fourth week of August, Bloodstain languished in fourth place with a mere 17.5%.

To summarize, Bloodstain's historically high share in the South Korean region likely boils down to it being a legacy starting class backed by heavy investments from veteran rankers. On top of that, only four rankers managed to clear stage 30 in the Narichanye Valley using Bloodstain. Player perception and preferences have shifted dramatically since the half-anniversary, making it tough for the class to shine in the content rolled out over the past six months.

Three Balance Patches Later: What Were the Results?

Over the past six months, Vampir has rolled out three distinct balance passes. The first hit on March 11, buffing Carnage's 'Sharpshooter's Focus' and Reaper's 'Shadow Infiltration' skills while simultaneously opening up paid class change tickets. The following week on March 18 brought the second balance patch, giving Akasha's skills a sweeping buff. It was a classic case of developers keeping an eye on immediate post-launch metrics and addressing shortcomings.

The third patch landed on May 13 as a massive overhaul touching every single class in the game. That being said, drawing a direct line of cause and effect between this specific balance patch and the subsequent ranking shifts is rather tricky. The actual rank shuffle did not happen until much later on July 15, when Carnage climbed to second place.

Anniversary Record Part 3: Conquest Victory Points Under New Rules

Summary of records from January 25 to August 23 based on upper battlefield victory points
▲ Summary of records from January 25 to August 23 based on upper battlefield victory points (Image courtesy: KookminTree)

Finally, we have compiled the overall victory point rankings for Vampir Conquest mode—a topic we rarely touch upon in our Conquest views. Conquest originally dropped on September 25, 2025, with preseason matches running on September 27 and 28. That means the one-year anniversary of the mode is just around the corner.

The true turning point for Conquest came during the matches on January 24 and 25, when developers revamped the shuffling system and overhauled the mode into its current rule set. These standings aggregate the results of 17 matches held from those exact games up until August 23, with rankings strictly determined by the number of upper battlefield victories.

Taking the number one spot in Conquest is 'Grim Reaper' from the streamer server Oscar 2. Their record stands at an absurd 14 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw, riding a 14-match win streak in the Diamond bracket since February 22. They live up to their grim moniker by mercilessly crushing every single server and clan matched against them in the same bracket.

While second-place 'Strange People' and third-place 'Abigail' racked up massive victory points over time, we likely will not see Abigail adding to that tally anytime soon. Abigail has not secured any additional points since May 31, suggesting they likely merged with another clan after leaving a legendary run in the Conquest viewer. Clans bearing variations of the 'Abigail' tag are still spotted roaming around, though.

The Vampir Conquest view calculates victory points for both clans separately

Strange People seemingly slapped a fresh coat of paint on their clan name back in August, as you can see in the image provided. This screenshot was snapped after logging into Nel 2 server right as the first August Conquest wrapped up. While Vampir's official match announcements and Nel 1 server's in-game UI declared the 'Potato Patch' clan as the victor, hopping over to the opposing Nel 2 server showed Strange People taking the crown instead. Classic name-change shenanigan issues right before and after Conquest matches always tend to cause this kind of administrative headache.

Now, our eyes are naturally drawn to fourth-place clan 'Cheongyeok' in the anniversary Conquest rankings. Since they are still active under the exact same banner, they have plenty of room to stockpile more points moving forward. They have indeed been putting up stellar performances in the August Vampir Conquest views. We cannot wait to see what the 1.5-year record compilation brings us next.
