Spanning roughly eight minutes, the footage follows the protagonist, Katrina, as the character adventures through diverse regions and clashes with foes. At its core, the combat system embraces modern action gaming trends—think swordplay, spellcasting, parrying, and dodging—while treating fans to a face-to-face encounter with the legendary Dungeons & Dragons monster, the Beholder.

What genuinely catches the eye, though, is the surprisingly versatile magic system. For starters, players can use spells to pick up surrounding objects to put out fires or construct stepping stones, allowing for some rather intricate environmental interactions. You can even manipulate the weather by deploying magical circles and making sacrifices.

Naturally, magic shines just as brightly in the heat of combat. Katrina can topple stone pillars to crush groups of enemies in one fell swoop or shove them off perilous cliffs, not to mention swapping places with foes to leave them taking incoming fire instead. Other neat tricks include binding enemies to seal off their attacks and yanking swords straight out of adversaries to reuse them.

For those who missed the memo, Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons was first unveiled at The Game Awards 2025. The narrative charts the journey of the female warrior Katrina, who strikes a bargain with the ancient witch Tasha to track down someone she lost, learning various arcane arts and transforming into a true warlock along the way. The title is being published by Wizards of the Coast and developed by Canadian studio Invoke Studios.

Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, complete with official Korean language support.
