The Blood of Dawnwalker launched on Steam on September 3. It has maintained the number one spot on Steam's global top sellers chart day after day since release, proving its hype, though early user reviews have pointed out optimisation issues.

Created by former developers of The Witcher 3, The Blood of Dawnwalker lets you play as the protagonist Koen, who uses swordsmanship and magic as a human by day, and awakens as a vampire at night to utilise supernatural abilities. The journey depicts a race against time to rescue kidnapped family members from the clutches of vampires within 30 days before they are offered as sacrifices, with various choices made along the way impacting the narrative.

Early Steam user reviews are currently sitting at 'Mostly Positive' (with 1,352 reviews, 73% of which are positive). Many are praising the dark fantasy setting, distinctive characters, and well-structured quests, hailing it as a story and universe worthy of the former The Witcher 3 developers. On top of that, reviewers are finding the differing day-and-night combat styles, soundtrack, and voice acting highly immersive and positive.

However, optimisation issues were unavoidable. Critics point out that frame drops and stuttering occur frequently even on high-end PCs, and there are numerous control bugs where character movement becomes stiff or malfunctions when a controller is connected. Furthermore, some players have voiced frustration over issues such as in-game cutscenes being locked at 30 frames per second and letterboxing appearing on ultrawide monitors. Consequently, some reactions suggest it is better to wait until the optimisation gets sorted out.

Elsewhere, Bombanana, which received 'Overwhelmingly Positive' reviews during the last Steam Next Fest, launched on September 2 and climbed to 9th place, currently holding 'Very Positive' early user reviews. Meanwhile, Wardogs rose to 2nd place ahead of its second playtest. Bodycam, which recently dropped a massive patch update, also climbed to 4th place.

In the daily peak Concurrent Players top 20, while most games are on a downward trend, Apex Legends recorded 270,278 players, showing a slight increase against the grain. After jumping to the mid-200,000s alongside its new season in early August, it has maintained that figure steadily—a completely different picture from season 29, which failed to stem the decline.
