HoYoverse announced on the 21st that the upcoming version 4.6 of Honkai: Star Rail, titled "Before the Moon Rises, Dancing with Beasts", is scheduled for an update on the 28th. This update introduces fresh narrative chapters and the playable character "Pearl", while expanding touchpoints with players through a diverse lineup of online and offline events.

In version 4.6, the Aeon of Elation "Aha" and Nihilux head toward a life sciences research facility deep within Astropolis to unfold a brand new chapter. The Trailblazer enlists the assistance of the new character "Pearl" to uncover the truth behind the hazardous "beast shell weaponisation" initiative pushed by Company R&D Department Head "Yabuli", ultimately working to thwart a conspiracy threatening the anomalous paradise.

Joining the roster as a 5-star Ice character following the Path of Elation, "Pearl" consumes resources during combat to mitigate a portion of all incoming damage for allies, while utilising "Deep Learning" to study the combat data of a designated teammate and unleash empowered attacks. Crucially, pairing "Pearl" with other characters on the Path of Elation unlocks formidable synergy effects, including bonus Elation damage and extra turns.

Throughout version 4.6, drop rates will be boosted for the limited 5-star character "Pearl" and the limited 5-star Light Cone "Colors Dedicated to Tomorrow", alongside reruns featuring "Evanesia" in the first half and "Qianye Blade" in the second. Furthermore, version events such as managing a mecha armor workshop in "Love, Ghost + Robots" and the combat reality show "Starpeace Festival: One Take" will take place. A brand new content feature, "Cosmic Illusion Pets", will also be added, allowing players to adventure alongside various pets or enjoy multiplayer challenges with friends in "Cosmic Boom Clash".

In addition, a themed product collaboration is underway with gaming lifestyle brand Razer featuring "Silver Wolf LV.999". It has also been teased that "Ellen" and "Astra Yao" from Zenless Zone Zero will join as collaboration characters in version 4.8.

On top of that, Honkai: Star Rail will be exhibited at "Hoyoland 2026", HoYoverse Korea's comprehensive gaming festival taking place at KINTEX in Ilsan from October 2 to October 5. Alongside this, a collaboration with Mega MGC Coffee is scheduled to run from October 15 to November 18, revealing collaborative beverages and stamp challenges themed around Qianye Blade and Silver Wolf LV.999.
