[Meca Ranking] Assassin Preference Rises Among Mid-Tier Players in Arthdal Chronicles: Three Factions

AI Summary
Assassins surged in mid-tier popularity via recent tickets. Top rankers and guilds shifted based on fierce archipelago wars. Rare elemental weapons dominated the latest user voting poll.

Look, let's be honest, welcome to another edition of the Arthdal Chronicles Meca Ranking. Last week's update finally dropped the class change tickets, and quite a few players are busy testing the waters with brand-new vocations. So, what actually stood out in this little event? KookminTree has done some digging to find out.

Assassins are proving popular even among the 150k to 200k mid-tier rankers

Class change tickets have officially landed in Arthdal Chronicles, but there is a rather curious detail to unpack here. The preference for Assassins has spiked noticeably among mid-tier rankers sitting between 140k and 200k combat power. Looking at the concrete numbers, their share rose by 1.75 percentage points over the past week, overtaking Archers to claim the number one spot.

Assassins were already quite popular among top rankers thanks to their stellar grinding performance. However, word got out that monsters in the 3rd and 4th archipelagoes of the Dark Night would become aggressive in the late October update, and many mid-tier players seem to have switched to Assassins to prepare for that exact headache. After all, Assassins boast ridiculous grinding efficiency against both aggressive and passive mobs alike.

Just keep in mind that pulling off high-tier grinding numbers as an Assassin requires mastering a few mandatory skills. Upgrading the heroic-tier Flash Strike and Death Messenger is pretty much non-negotiable, alongside Swift Visitor, which drops from the heroic party dungeon Hall of the Chilling Cold. If you manage to pick up these skills, the cooldowns for Death Messenger and Flash Strike reset continuously, letting you clear out mobs using just those two abilities.

Unlike the lower-to-mid-tier rankers who have been swapping classes left and right, the class distribution for upper-tier rankers with over 200k combat power hasn't budged an inch. Assassins still hold a comfortable lead at 41%, followed by Warriors at 26%, Inquisitors at 14%, and Priests at 12%, with zero changes made. Analysts reckon they are simply bracing themselves for the 6th archipelago of the Dark Night.

Among them, the most interesting character to watch is Wangja from the Hoit3 guild on the Yoonseul server. Wangja is currently invading the Yoonseul server and keeping up a relentless war against the First Alliance, and it looks like they swapped from an Assassin to a Warrior to boost their multi-target combat prowess. With fierce large-scale battles breaking out between the two alliances during recent sieges, Warriors who can cleave down multiple enemies are clearly being favored over single-target Assassins. It is a calculated shift, to say the least.

Let us check out the average combat power rankings across the entire server list. Average combat power ticked up slightly across the board, though the actual standings remain stubbornly unchanged. Over in the New World Season 1 Legion bracket, the Leo server—home to Eozer, who sits comfortably on an unmatched throne—pumped up its average combat power by a cool 4,102. Expect them to overtake the Crabon server and snatch the top spot for New World Season 1 any day now.

How are the archipelago score rankings looking?

Last week came with tax collections on the line, sparking a fiercely contested race for archipelago scores. Ultimately, Michinja from the Aramunhaesla server took the crown as the all-server number one with a staggering 753 billion points, dodging any major wartime disruptions. Following closely behind were Gisado from the Inaishinki server in second place with 730 billion points, Michinsangdu from the Aramunhaesla server in third with 716 billion points, and Akma from the same server in fourth with 665 billion points.

Here is a rather cheeky detail: the top three players—Michinja, Gisado, and Michinsangdu—are actually grinding not as their main classes of Inquisitors and Priests, but as sub-class Assassins. They have properly geared up with light armor suited for their sub-class, Siaru's Daggers, and optimized skills to grind effectively as full-fledged Assassins. It really speaks volumes about how devastating the Assassin's grinding performance is in the 5th archipelago of the Dark Night right now.

What about the all-server guild score rankings?

Moving on to the guild score rankings across all servers in Arthdal Chronicles, we finally have a new face sitting at the very top for the first time in a while. The main character of the week is the Nyangnyang guild from the Ibuna server, claiming the top spot with 1,976 billion points. Right behind them are the Michinja guild from the Aramunhaesla server in second with 1,780 billion points, and the First Alliance from the Yoonseul server in third with 1,195 billion points.

The primary catalyst for this musical chairs routine among the rankings comes down to the differing server transfers chosen by the two coalitions. While the Nyangnyang and Immortals guilds, which had previously banded together in Aramunhaesla for the Masters League, dispersed back to Ibuna and Inaishinki respectively, the coalition gathered on the Yoonseul server decided to stay put. Naturally, this meant the First Alliance struggled to monopolize boss kills for points, leading to a dip in their ranking. Expect this status quo to hold until the next server transfers roll around.

Arthdal Chronicles User Poll

Last week's user poll results

Here are the results from last week's Meca Ranking poll. The topic was 'Which weapons are best for New World Season 2?' and a whopping 81.58% voted for 'Rare-tier elemental weapons'. Meanwhile, 10.42% of users recommended 'Heroic-tier superior weapons like Storm or Abyss'. Looking at the specific feedback, comments included, "Once you boost the elemental amplification rate, rare superior weapons are overwhelmingly better", "You have to equip heroic elemental weapons eventually anyway", and "Storm and Abyss weapons simply do not justify their hefty price tags."

Now, it is time to announce this week's poll topic. Arthdal Chronicles features a massive variety of bosses, ranging from world bosses to Dark Night archipelago regional bosses. Many players praise these encounters for the diverse patterns each boss brings to the table. So, out of all those bosses, which one did you find the most engaging? Cast your vote, and we will reveal the results next week.
