Smilegate has rolled out a massive content update for developer NX3 Games' MMORPG Lord Nine on August 21, introducing fresh combat zones and shiny new gear.

The update unlocks 'Erbanok', a high-end field hunting ground where players can hunt monsters to get their hands on a brand-new equipment type called 'Orb'. Most notably, taking down the boss monster 'Varkain', which spawns once a week, guarantees a Mythic-grade item drop every single time.

In addition, the high-tier dungeon hunting ground 'Abyss of Antiquity 2nd Floor' is now open for business. Players must hunt monsters on the 1st floor to acquire a dedicated teleport scroll to access the 2nd floor, where richer experience points and Orb items await. While the 2nd floor follows the same rules as existing conflict zones, it notably lacks the 'Revenge' feature.

The new 'Orb' equipment system forms another cornerstone of this update. Orbs randomly grant specialized skill effects starting from Rare tier and above. Passive skills are available on Rare tier Orbs or higher, while active skills can be unleashed with certain Legendary tier Orbs and up. Normal and Advanced tier Orbs come without skill effects and can be utilized as awakening materials. Players can secure Orbs or 'Orb Shards' from awakening bosses, guild content, and hunting grounds; collecting multiple fragments allows players to craft an Orb and use it just like any other piece of equipment.

To celebrate the launch of the brand-new server 'Hakan' on August 23, Smilegate is hosting a variety of events open to everyone across all servers. Running through September 18, the 'Attendance Event' rewards participants with up to 460 assorted summon vouchers and a guaranteed Hero-grade artifact summon ticket. Running concurrently is a 'Growth Support Mission Event', dishing out another round of up to 230 summon vouchers alongside a guaranteed Hero-grade artifact summon ticket. Furthermore, players can collect or craft 'Ancient Language Shards' dropped by field monsters to trade them in at the exchange shop for various rewards throughout the same period.

Meanwhile, a level-achievement shop event is scheduled to run until February 17 of next year. Once players hit certain mastery levels, they can use gold at the 'Level Achievement' exchange shop to purchase artifact summon vouchers and 'Starlight Artifact Summon Vouchers', which offer a shot at pulling items up to Legendary tier. On top of all that, a fresh autumn-themed avatar skin dubbed 'Fall's First Love Falling Heart' has been added to the mix.
