The 2025 Gayming Awards, which shines a spotlight on LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity, has crowned Dragon Age: The Veilguard (hereinafter The Veilguard) as its Game of the Year.

Gayming Magazine, founded by Robin Gray in 2019, is a webzine dedicated to highlighting the LGBTQ+ gaming community and reporting on developers and studios that champion inclusivity. The Gayming Awards is the publication's annual ceremony, which has been held since 2021.

During the ceremony held on the 9th, the 2024 release The Veilguard took home the top prize. Additionally, the award for Best LGBTQ+ Character went to the game's protagonist, Rook. The Best LGBTQ+ Indie Game award was presented to Kitsune Tails, while the Best Geek Entertainment award went to the Netflix animated series Arcane: Season 2.

BioWare General Manager Gary McKay shared their gratitude: "I want to thank the fans, Gayming Magazine, and everyone who participated in the development." Gary McKay added, "The Veilguard is a result of passion, creativity, and the unique identity of every individual involved in the development, and we are honoured to receive such an award."

Meanwhile, the organizers at Gayming Magazine noted: "In a climate where political pressure is pushing corporations to retreat from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, the sponsors of the 2025 Gayming Awards are bucking the trend. These sponsors recognize the purchasing power of LGBTQ+ consumers and remain committed to fostering loyalty within that community."
