Dynasty Warriors, the franchise that defined the 'one-man army' action genre where you mow down hordes of enemies, is officially getting a remaster to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Koei Tecmo released a 25th-anniversary video on the 3rd, and the most notable announcement is the remaster. The trailer teases, 'That intense one-man army action returns to the modern era,' confirming that a remaster is in the works. However, since there is a question mark trailing the title, it remains a mystery which of the many legacy titles is actually getting the polish.

Dynasty Warriors is an action game based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, first released in 2000. It gained popularity for its 'one-man army' action, where players take on waves of foes as legendary generals. This success birthed the 'Musou' genre, and the developer, Koei Tecmo's internal studio Omega Force, solidified its position as a top-tier developer.

The series has remained active, spawning numerous titles over the years. Dynasty Warriors: Origins, released in January this year, was also well-received. The development team plans to release a large-scale DLC for Dynasty Warriors: Origins to commemorate the 25th anniversary, with further details to be announced later.
