Yoo Chang-ho of the regional esports team 'Jeonnam Dragons Esports' has advanced to the winner's bracket final of the 2025 Korea Esports League (KEL) in the FC Mobile category. This is the first time Jeonnam Dragons Esports has reached the top tier of a national tournament.

The Korea Esports League is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and co-organized by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA), Krafton, Nimble Neuron, and Nexon Korea. Aiming to discover regional esports talent and revitalize the industry ecosystem, the league features representatives from 16 regions across the country competing for the title. The FC Mobile category is highly likely to be included as a national team selection event in the future.

The winner's bracket final will be held on August 10 at the Busan Esports Arena. The winner will receive a prize of 10 million KRW, a Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, and a spot as a Korean representative at the FC Pro Champions Cup.

A representative for Jeonnam Dragons Esports stated, "Yoo Chang-ho has been a core player for the team since its inception, consistently improving his skills," adding, "We hope this advancement to the final serves as an opportunity to showcase the potential of Jeonnam esports to the entire nation."

Jeollanam-do was selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's regional esports league support program this year, securing 57 million KRW in national funding. Together with the Jeonnam IT Industry Promotion Agency and the Jeollanam-do Esports Association, the province has been working to support player operations, expand training infrastructure, and broaden the industry base. At the team's launch ceremony, Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Yung-rok stated, "The Jeonnam esports representative team symbolizes the dreams and challenging spirit of our youth," and added, "We will inject new vitality into the local economy and culture through the esports industry."
