Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency are set to host the 2025 Brena Best Player University Division tournament at the Busan Esports Arena, known as Brena.

Brena Best Player is an amateur esports series held at the venue. The inaugural youth division earlier this year saw 201 participants, with Busan Computer Science High School (Valorant) and Wonju High School (Brawl Stars) taking home the trophies.

The university division is open to students nationwide, featuring Valorant (5-player teams) and Overwatch 2 (5-player teams). Those interested can apply online by August 26 via the Brena official website. Teams that pass the online qualifiers will advance to the offline finals held at Brena on September 7. The winning teams will be awarded the Busan Mayor's Prize and a cash prize.

The final matches are open to the public, and the action will be broadcast live on the official Brena YouTube channel.

Director Kim Tae-yeol of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency stated, "As interest and participation in esports continue to grow, it is vital that we provide a stage where young people can fully unleash their potential," adding, "We are committed to operating Brena as a community-integrated esports hub to foster a culture that all generations can enjoy together."
