Since entering early access back in March, inZOI has been Krafton's bold gauntlet thrown down at The Sims, the reigning titan of life simulation games. While players were initially impressed by the intricate customisation, modern aesthetics, and polished character models, the consensus was that the title felt a bit thin on content.

Five months later, inZOI has dropped its new DLC, 'Dohwa'. Unlike the urban sprawl of the base game, this expansion pivots to a laid-back holiday resort, offering a completely different lifestyle. Can 'Dohwa' satisfy those craving more depth? I took a trip to the Gamescom floor to see for myself.

At its heart, 'Dohwa' is a sprawling resort composed of two massive islands. Upon arrival, the vibe is unmistakably chill. With palm trees, sandy beaches, and the sound of the ocean, it is hard not to feel relaxed. The architecture screams seaside getaway, and the Zois (the characters in inZOI) add a touch of life by busking, fishing, and setting off fireworks.

You can roam around 'Dohwa' as if you were on a real holiday. You might grab a coffee at a scenic café to chat with other Zois, go for a surf, or simply lounge on a bench. If you choose 'Dohwa' as your starting point, you can even secure a home with a stunning ocean view.

So, what exactly can you get up to? You can head to the fishing shop for a rod and bait to start your haul. You might snag anything from a seahorse to literal junk. Pro-tip: bait significantly boosts your success rate, so don't be stingy with it.

Farming is also on the cards. Just buy your produce at the shop, extract the seeds, and set up a plot in your garden. Once planted, you simply wait—or speed things up with water and fertiliser. Since crops vary in size and quality, there is a genuine thrill in seeing what you manage to harvest.

You can also scour the beaches for hidden treasures. Keep an eye out for odd mounds in the sand; dig them up and you might find pearls, pink diamonds, or emeralds. Like fishing, it is a bit of a gamble, but the dopamine hit of landing a rare gem makes it well worth the effort.

In short, inZOI has significantly bulked up its content with 'Dohwa'. By introducing a fresh setting and giving players clear, collection-based goals, the experience feels much more focused. If you are looking for a change of pace in inZOI, I highly recommend checking into the resort of 'Dohwa'.
