Special merchandise has been revealed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. They have unveiled a plush and mascot modeled after that chubby, monochrome dot-art Pikachu from the original 'Pokémon Red and Green' games.

The Pokémon Company announced the 'Original Pikachu' plush and mascot on the 27th. It perfectly captures the portly frame of the early Pikachu and faithfully recreates the original black-and-white dot graphics. You can display the plush in your room to stir up some nostalgia or attach the mascot to your bag when you are out and about.

There is plenty more to mark the 30th anniversary. We also have the 'Pika! Pika! Pikachu!' plush, showing the little fellow wide-eyed and looking toward the future, alongside items featuring 30th-anniversary illustrations of the first-generation starters—Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur—peering into a Pokédex with curious expressions. The collection is rounded out with sticker sets, acrylic blocks, clear files, acrylic keychains, notebooks, and cookies.

The monochrome dot-art Pikachu plush will be available starting February 28th, while the other two product lines follow on March 12th via the Pokémon Center Online (official online shop).

Meanwhile, a special 30th-anniversary website has gone live, featuring a commemorative logo containing all 1,052 Pokémon and a special anniversary video. Furthermore, the 'Pokémon Presents' online showcase is scheduled for 11 PM on February 27th, where we expect to hear the latest news regarding the franchise.
