KeSPA has announced that the Esports Championships Asia 2026, the premier regional national tournament, is set to take place over three days from April 24 to 26 at the Jinju Indoor Gymnasium.

Seven nations, including South Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Mongolia, will be competing. With roughly 150 athletes and staff descending on the venue, the event will feature six titles: PUBG Mobile, Street Fighter 6, Eternal Return, eFootball Series, The King of Fighters XV, and Tekken 8. The final rosters for each discipline are expected to be locked in by early April.

This year's tournament is strategically positioned to help national squads sharpen their skills and strengthen their performance ahead of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Gyeongsangnam-do and Jinju City are planning to integrate local cultural programs, aiming to turn the event into an immersive experience for both domestic and international fans and heighten the tournament atmosphere.

KeSPA President Kim Young-man remarked, "This year marks a pivotal shift as the competition evolves from its 2021 Japan-China-Korea roots into a truly pan-Asian affair." He added, "It is a vital opportunity to boost both the competitive edge and camaraderie among our national teams, and we are working closely with the host city and publishers to cement this tournament as the central hub for Asian esports exchange."
