The new official title from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) following its separation from EA has finally been revealed.

FIFA released a new trailer for 'FIFA Heroes' via its official social media channels on the 25th. First announced last October, this 5v5 football game is FIFA's first official title since ending its partnership with EA in 2022, drawing significant attention.

The footage provides a glimpse into the game's systems. Real-world football players like Maradona and Jack Grealish are rendered in a cartoon style, alongside mythological figures such as Thor, Loki, and Zeus, as well as anthropomorphic characters like tigers and reindeer. The gameplay involves each player selecting a character to form a five-person squad to compete against opponents.

The skills are particularly notable. In addition to standard football mechanics like shooting, tackling, and dribbling, the game features fantasy-style abilities, such as creating lightning zones to immobilize opponents.

However, as the FIFA series previously managed by EA was known for its realistic simulation, many users have pointed out that this new direction feels incongruous. Fans have expressed criticism, with comments such as, "Is this an April Fool's joke?", "Are they trying to make a superpower football game? It doesn't fit at all," and "If they were going to make something like this, they didn't need to use the FIFA name; it's a waste of the brand."

FIFA Heroes is set to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. Information regarding Korean language support and the official release date has not yet been announced.
