Nexon rolled out the fifth free update for ARC Raiders, the PvPvE extraction adventure cooked up by Embark Studios, on the 1st. Titled 'Flashpoint,' this update is packed with new environmental conditions, fresh ARC variants, a pair of new weapons, and player projects. They have also tweaked the feeding system for your pet rooster 'Koko,' refined the crafting mechanics, and added a splash of new cosmetic items.

First up, we have a new environmental condition dubbed 'ARC Operation: Close Scrutiny.' The lore suggests that the ARC has picked up on abnormal activity in high-value zones and is deploying 'ARC Assessors' to investigate. This brings the 'Vaporizer,' a new flying ARC that relies on a lethal laser as its primary weapon, into the mix. Out in the wild, you can scavenge components for the 'ARC Assessor' and hunt down blueprints for new hardware like an energy shotgun and a submachine gun. Also, for those who enjoy the thrill of close-quarters combat, the melee-focused 'Shredder'—previously exclusive to Stella Montis—will now pop up on other maps.

Alongside this, they’ve introduced a new player project: 'High-Performance Antenna.' The goal here is to set up antennas on the ground to better track ARC activity. You’ll need to hand over various materials and resources gathered from the field to secure special 'ARC Assessor' parts, completing tiered objectives along the way. Your efforts are rewarded with radar tokens, 'Snaphooks,' and other handy gameplay items.

If you’ve been pampering your pet rooster 'Koko,' you’ll be pleased to hear that you can now feed it specific items to dictate which resources it collects, netting you some extra rewards in the process. The crafting system has also seen some much-needed love; if you find yourself short on materials, you can now recycle, refine, or purchase what you need all in one go via the new material replenishment system. To round it off, a new collection of cosmetics, including the wasp-hunter-themed 'Wasp Hunter Set,' is now available.
