Following the trend seen in MapleStory, a 'relief pitcher' has stepped onto the mound for Dungeon & Fighter.

Yoon Myung-jin, the CEO of Neople, is taking on a double role as the Head of the Dungeon & Fighter Mobile (DNF Mobile) development division, while keeping his current post. It is a homecoming of sorts, as Yoon returns to lead the mobile project after roughly three years, having previously served as the general director until 2023. This move is significant, as the man steering the entire DNF IP's world-building and long-term vision is now directly overseeing the day-to-day operations.

The internal reshuffle is clearly aimed at recalibrating the development trajectory for DNF Mobile. It is hard to ignore the timing, coming shortly after Nexon Chairman Patrick Söderlund pointed out the structural slump of DNF Mobile during the Capital Markets Briefing on March 30. During that session, Söderlund was quite vocal about the need for improved profitability. It seems the brass is betting on Yoon—who knows the IP better than anyone—to spearhead a turnaround and get those performance metrics back on track.

Despite this added weight on Yoon’s shoulders, the day-to-day operations for the Korean service will remain under the steady hand of Director Ok Sung-tae, who will serve as the deputy head of the division. The new structure effectively splits the workload: Yoon sets the grand strategy and the 'big picture' direction, while Ok handles the execution of the domestic service.

Meanwhile, Neople announced on the 1st that the rights for live service operations in China will be fully transferred to their publisher, Tencent. Going forward, Neople intends to focus their efforts where they belong: on the core tasks of new content planning and system development.
