The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) and Krafton announced on the 13th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote school esports and integrate it into the institutional sports system. The signing ceremony was held at the KeSPA headquarters on the same day, attended by KeSPA Secretary General Kim Cheol-hak, Krafton Head of PUBG Esports Park Soo-young, and other officials from both sides.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to establish a mutual cooperation framework to ensure that domestic esports titles secure a firm position within both domestic and international institutional sports systems. To achieve this, they will organize a joint steering committee to enhance the efficiency of school esports projects. Furthermore, they aim to strengthen the sustainability of the esports industry by activating a player development pipeline that spans from amateur to professional levels.

In addition, they will create the necessary conditions for domestic IP to be adopted as an official event in the National Sports Festival to support the institutionalization of esports. They also plan to share a roadmap for entering international stages, such as the Olympic Esports Games (OEG). The goal is to provide an institutional foundation where talented individuals can grow into internationally competitive players. The agreement is set for a three-year term.

KeSPA Secretary General Kim Cheol-hak stated that this agreement will be a "crucial inflection point for domestic esports titles to secure a unique status within the institutional sports system." He added, "Together with Krafton, we will solidify school esports programs and build a robust pipeline from amateur to national representative, providing the foundation for our players to grow into global talents."

Park Soo-young, Head of PUBG Esports at Krafton, said, "I am delighted to embark on vitalizing school esports based on the seven years of trust built between PUBG and the association." He expressed his hope that "students will learn healthy sportsmanship through esports and that a systematic environment will be created for them to grow into professional players," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that our domestic IP, PUBG, settles in as a premier global sporting title."
