NEXON announced on the 14th that they have updated MapleStory with a brand-new event boss, 'Maple Warrior Jin', personally conceptualised by BTS member Jin. This update invites players to grab a host of cosmetic items born from this collaboration, alongside various growth-focused goodies. Plus, with the summer update looming on the horizon, a pre-attendance event and a suite of mini-games have also been unleashed.

First off, 'Maple Warrior Jin' is the latest fruit of the BTS collaboration that has been running since March. Until June 17th, players can jump in with characters linked to their MapleID, forming parties of up to three to take down the boss once a week. The boss version of Jin is a nostalgic trip, utilising iconic skills from the Warrior, Magician, Archer, and Rogue classes as they existed before the legendary Big Bang update.

During the raid, you will need to dodge Jin's attacks while gathering 'Maple Leaves' scattered across the battlefield to boost your party's final damage output. Succeed in the takedown, and you will be rewarded with Jin-designed cosmetics like the 'Illusion Ring: Huge Head', 'Me Behind Me', and the 'Super-sized Sword', plus essential growth materials like 'Sol Erda' and 'Sol Erda Shards'.

In anticipation of the summer showcase 'OVERDRIVE' scheduled for June 13th, the 'Summer Countdown' pre-attendance event is now live. Complete 15 days of attendance by the 17th, and you'll bag growth items such as the 'Growth Potion of Transcendence' and cosmetic treats like the 'Character Select Screen Theme Ticket – Night at Seokchon Lake'.

Better yet, your 5th, 10th, and 15th check-ins will trigger the 'Summer Power-up' buff, giving your character growth a helping hand. Once you hit that 15-day milestone, you can tackle a daily mission to slay 10,000 monsters within your level range to earn 'Echo of Nightmare +', which summons a 'Nightmare Cleaner' to farm massive amounts of EXP for 100 seconds. From June 18th until July 1st, depending on your total attendance, you can also claim up to 10 'Sol Erda' and 300 'Sol Erda Shard Exchange Tickets'.

Meanwhile, NEXON is running the 'Superpower Yut Nori' mini-game until May 27th. Accumulate participation counts to unlock rewards like the 'Maple Attack Yut Nori Chair', a permanent 'Riding with My Friend Yeti' ticket, and a 'Sand Rabbit Damage Skin'. They have even tweaked the game so you can enjoy it while moving maps or grinding regular mobs. If you fancy a challenge, 'World Best Punch King' Season 4 is also running until May 27th, where you race against the clock to top the rankings by slaying monsters.
