Look, if you have a penchant for cosmic dread, mark your calendars: The Sinking City 2, the Cthulhu-inspired horror action romp, has officially locked in its release date for 18 August.

The news dropped on the 7th during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase. Set in the fictional 1920s American city of 'Arkham'—which, thanks to a rather inconvenient supernatural flood, is now mostly deserted—you step into the shoes of adventurer 'Calvin Raftery'. Your mission? To scour the rotting city and rescue 'Faye', your beloved, whose soul is currently trapped by a botched ritual. A bit of a nightmare, really.

The accompanying trailer offers a glimpse into your grim adventure and the menagerie of monstrosities waiting to greet you. You'll be dealing with the likes of 'Slither', which enjoys manipulating corpses, and the 'Deep Ones', who have crawled in from the abyss. Fortunately, you aren't entirely defenceless; you'll have a selection of pistols and shotguns to handle these unwanted guests. Watch the trailer here:
