Neowiz announced on the 9th that Chris Chung has been appointed as the head of the newly established Global Business Group, a move aimed at sharpening the company's competitive edge in the international gaming market. This strategic shift is intended to solidify Neowiz's standing as a global publisher while building a sustainable IP portfolio.

Chris Chung brings a wealth of experience in founding development studios and spearheading global franchises. During his time at the European video game firm Wargaming, he served as Chief Product Officer (CPO), overseeing titles such as World of Tanks and World of Warships. Furthermore, he founded Motiga to develop Gigantic and held leadership roles as Head of Business Division at NCSoft's headquarters and Head of the US subsidiary.

Alongside this recruitment, Neowiz is undergoing a structural overhaul. The existing organization has been reorganized into a three-pillar system: New Game Development Group, Global Business Group, and Live Game Business Group. Cho Min-gu, formerly Head of the Olympus Division, has been promoted to lead the Live Game Business Group. This group will focus on the stable service and data-driven operational refinement of existing IPs, including the web-board game Pmang, Brown Dust 2, and Cats & Soup.

A Neowiz official commented, "With the addition of Chris Chung, we have secured a publishing organization and capabilities that possess a deep understanding of the entire process, from early development to global franchising." The official added, "We will proactively support new games to ensure their success in the global market, while further expanding business opportunities such as discovering and investing in new IP."

Meanwhile, Park Sung-jun, who was nominated as the new CEO last June, is set to take office this August. Park will continue to hold the position of New Game Development Group Head concurrently after the inauguration.
