Nexon rolled out a hefty expansion for MapleStory M on the 10th, introducing the 'Ultimate Union' tier—a new summit for the game's progression system. By pushing past the previous ceiling of the 'Supreme Union' rank, the developer is clearly looking to give players a fresh mountain to climb.

With the arrival of the Ultimate Union tier, the total Union level threshold has been stretched from 13,000 to 15,000. Naturally, this comes with new stat bonuses and achievements to chase. Over in the Union Champion mode, an 'SS' rank has been added, featuring a high-stakes challenge against the boss Dunkel. Reaching this rank unlocks a Champion Emblem that boosts critical damage, and Nexon has also bumped up the Champion slots from three to four.

The V Matrix, which handles 5th-job skill enhancements, has received a much-needed facelift to make core strengthening feel less like a chore. V Points are now instantly credited based on the type of Core Gemstone used, creating a unified currency for unlocking and upgrading. Nexon has also fixed the enhancement core setup to six per job, and special cores can now be unlocked or extended using those same V Points. The UI has been polished to better suit mobile screens, too.

Furthermore, the Boundary of Space content now features new regions: 'Limina' and 'Burning Cernium'. Players can jump in for 60 minutes of free daily play to grind for experience points.

To keep the momentum going, Nexon is running a suite of growth-support events until August 12. Spiegelmann’s Golden Strawberry Farm allows players to select up to three characters above level 100 to enter the dungeon, granting EXP rewards even to characters who aren't currently logged in.

Additionally, the Union Mission Point Rally lets players trade in accumulated points for goodies like the Union Champion Chair and Core Gemstones. The Union Gardening event is also live, providing EXP to up to six characters depending on the player's Union level bracket.
