Game Freak has announced its participation in the 2026 Tokyo Game Show. While this initially sparked high expectations for a new Pokémon title, the developer has firmly stated that there will be no Pokémon-related announcements.

On the 9th, Game Freak stated via its official social media, "Game Freak will have its first-ever booth at TGS 2026, and we will share further details sequentially," adding, "There will be no exhibits related to the Pokémon series." This has left many fans feeling disappointed.

Known as the developer of the Pokémon game series, Game Freak is currently working on 'Beast of Reincarnation,' scheduled for release this August. The game is an action title set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, following the story of a sword-wielding girl named 'Emma' and a dog named 'Ku,' who has been corrupted by dark energy, as they fight against massive bosses ruling the world.

As the Tokyo Game Show takes place in September, it is speculated that this appearance is part of a marketing strategy to boost sales one month after the launch of Beast of Reincarnation. There is also speculation that the company may showcase information regarding other unannounced titles currently in development.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated 10th generation Pokémon titles, 'Wind' and 'Wave,' feature vast oceans and archipelagos. The titles were officially announced last February alongside the three starter Pokémon, with a release scheduled for 2027.
