Kakao Games has announced that the MMORPG 'The World of Dokkaebi', currently in development by Supercat, is slated for an October release.

Before the official launch, the company plans to kick off pre-registrations in August, followed by a showcase in September. The September showcase will peel back the curtain on the game's core systems and service details.

Alongside the release schedule, a key illustration was unveiled. It features 'Mongryeon', a symbolic figure bridging The World of Dokkaebi and the original work 'Myeol-Gwi-Su-Do-Jeon', alongside other primary characters. With character designs that reimagine traditional attire, set against a backdrop of soft lantern light and deep, moody colours, the visual style aims to capture a distinctly oriental atmosphere and a Korean aesthetic.

The World of Dokkaebi is a mobile MMORPG that boasts flexible growth without rigid class boundaries, diverse skill combinations, and clan-based cooperative content. It features a 2.5D graphical style that blends 2D pixel characters with 3D environments, a deck-building system for skill customization, and social mechanics centered around clans.

The original fantasy web novel 'Myeol-Gwi-Su-Do-Jeon' has expanded into a webtoon, which began serialization on Naver Webtoon on July 22nd, hitting the top 3 overall ranking on the platform within just one day.
