SOOP is kicking off the grand journey of 'Google Play ASL Season 22' on August 17.

The season starts with the first week of the Round of 24 at the FreecUP Studio in Daechi-dong in Daechi-dong, Seoul, with Google Play participating as the official sponsor. ASL is the flagship e-sports league for StarCraft: Remastered, which has been running for 11 years. Notably, the Season 22 final is set to be held on a special ice rink stage. Every match will be played offline with a live audience.

The first week of the Round of 24 spans three days from August 17 to 19. On August 17 at 7 PM, Group A matches will take place, featuring Yoo Young-jin (T), Bae Seong-heum (Z), Kim Taek-yong (P), and Kim Yun-jung (P). On August 18 at 7 PM, Group B matches follow with Cho Gi-seok (T), Kim Jae-hyun (T), Kim Sung-dae (Z), and Lee Young-han (Z). Finally, Group C matches are scheduled for August 19 at 7 PM, featuring Do Jae-wook (P), Jung Kyung-doo (P), Lee Jae-dong (Z), and Lee Young-woong (T).

This season's Round of 24 follows a single-round dual tournament format with four players per group. The first and second matches will be played on the 'Knockout' map, while winners' and losers' brackets will utilize a map-veto system across '(4)Attitude SE', '(2)Colorless Fate', and '(2)Odyssey RE'. The final match will apply the same veto process using '(4)Octagon SE', '(3)Aeolus', and '(4)Backroom'. The 12 survivors will join the Season 21 seeded players—Park Sang-hyun (Z), Shin Sang-moon (T), Lee Jae-ho (T), and Jang Yoon-chul (P)—for the Round of 16, which officially begins following the group drawing ceremony on August 31.

'Google Play ASL Season 22' will take place offline with a live audience at FreecUP Studio. Tickets for on-site viewing can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis via Ticketlink every Thursday at 5 PM. Tickets for the first week of the Round of 24 will be released on August 13 at 5 PM.
