Smilegate kicked off a massive update and events on August 28 to celebrate the official 8th anniversary of the mobile turn-based strategy RPG Epic Seven. This update features a new side story episode, 'Paradise Lost', and the Moonlight Hero 'Lizet'. Plus, a batch of quality-of-life improvements, brand-new PVP content, and bountiful anniversary events are all lined up.

Rolled out on August 27, the new side story episode 'Paradise Lost' serves as the grand opening for Epic Seven's 8th-anniversary celebrations. Set in the very first era of Epic Seven's cyclical world of destruction and restoration, the episode dives into the human days of Kayron, a face quite familiar to players. To top it all off, every single line of dialogue comes fully voiced to crank up the immersion.

Lizet, the central figure of 'Paradise Lost', joins the roster as a new Moonlight Hero. Lizet is a fragment of the goddess Diche who descended in human form to stop the world from ending, and the episode portrays her noble sacrifice. The skill set reflects the narrative of a goddess restoring the world. At the start of battle, Lizet gains 4 divine powers, and when an ally bites the dust, Lizet can consume a divine power to bring the fallen comrade right back. Furthermore, when using the 3rd skill, 'Converged Time', if Lizet is in the divine power state, it triggers 'Time Reversal' for all allies, a remarkably potent effect that resets the affected heroes back to their exact state right at the start of battle.

The August 27 update also brought along some neat quality-of-life tweaks and fresh PVP content. The repeated battle feature 'Battle Delegation' was upgraded to run automated battles and rake in rewards even while offline. Equipment management just got a whole lot smoother too, thanks to the addition of auto-sell and auto-extraction functions for gear.

Over in the real-time PVP mode World Arena, a brand-new mode called 'Call of Chaos' has landed. This mode boasts casual pick-and-ban phases alongside a brisk combat tempo. Players deploy 3 heroes each, and the first side to smash the Guardian chilling in the backline takes the crown. Expect plenty of unpredictable, edge-of-your-seat matches, especially with 'Destiny', a mighty effect you can pick during the scrap.

A jam-packed 8th-anniversary event loaded with goodies is also underway. Running for a solid 63 days straight from August 27 to October 29, players get 20 free Covenant Summons every single day, racking up a whopping 1,260 free summons in total. On top of that, just logging into the game scores everyone the Majestic Crescent Moon Luna bunny girl concept skin, which bagged 1st place in the 2025 Hero Popularity Vote. This year's popularity poll is also running, and players can trade in '8th Anniversary Coins' earned from participating for various rewards like a 5-star Hero Summon Ticket and an 8th-anniversary illustration.

On top of all that, the 8th-anniversary look-back event 'Shining Moments' lets players rack up points by completing in-game missions, unlocking service history milestones and rewards sequentially as the point tally climbs. The loot includes a Limited 5-star Hero Selection Ticket and loads of growth materials, plus a Moonlight 5-star Selection Ticket from the wildly popular Nitholen Academy universe.
