Look, let us be honest, the definitive dictatorship simulation is back, as the release date for the latest installment in the Tropico series has finally been locked in.

Kalypso Media rolled out a fresh trailer for Tropico 7 via its official YouTube channel. Spanning a glorious two and a half minutes, the footage gives a proper tour of the core game mechanics including architecture, policies, and faction systems, before dropping the grand finale: a launch date set for January 28 next year. Tropico 7 was first unveiled at Gamescom Xbox last year as a city-building simulation. Stepping into the shoes of the island's supreme ruler, players have to expand their city and pull every trick in the book to secure a nice, long-term grip on power.

What makes this sequel particularly cheeky is that it features the most massive archipelago stage in the series' history. It introduces large-scale terrain manipulation tools free from rigid grid constraints, letting rulers carve into mountains or literally sculpt brand-new islands from scratch. On top of that, you can butter up or ruthlessly crush various political factions ranging from communists and capitalists to environmentalists, while directly deploying military forces to handle rebellious elements and external threats.

Tropico 7 is heading to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, complete with official Korean language support.
