South Korea has landed in third place as the most frequently targeted country on an overseas nuclear simulation website.

Recently unveiled abroad, Nuke Simulation.com is a web-based visualization program that lets users check out the grim consequences of a nuclear strike, including death tolls and impact radiuses. Once you pick your target area and drop a bomb, it crunches numbers using data from the overseas demographic site 'Worldpop' to spit out statistics on casualties, blast zones, and pounds per square inch (PSI) pressure gauges.

Before pulling the trigger, you can tweak fine details like the warhead type, detonation time, blast type, and wind direction. If you are willing to splash out on paid monetization options, you can even watch the explosions rendered in 3D graphics that rival a proper video game, alongside extra sliders for burst height and yield.

The site also tracks hit counts by nation. Out of a staggering 325,959 nukes launched so far, Iran claimed the crown at number one with 62,448 hits, while the United States took second place with 61,371 hits.

What really catches the eye, though, is South Korea sitting comfortably in third place with 23,196 hits. It even shot up to the number one spot on the daily ranking as of 3:00 PM on the 7th. This bizarre spike seems to be the handiwork of local users discovering the site and curiously nuking their own neighbourhoods, homes, or workplaces out of sheer morbid fascination. Some folks have even offered up self-deprecating banter, suggesting that South Koreans must be a nation deeply driven by the urge to wipe out their own offices and schools.

Rounding out the rest of the table, Japan took fourth place with 16,414 hits, and Israel came in fifth with 13,302 hits. They were followed in order by the United Kingdom (11,472 hits), China (10,595 hits), Thailand (9,788 hits), India (9,360 hits), and Turkey (8,368 hits) taking spots six through ten. North Korea could also be spotted down at 21st place with 3,051 hits.
