Wemade's largest shareholder is shifting to an investment consortium composed of NeoPulse and global gaming company Kingnet, among others. The consortium has announced plans to expand its publishing and core intellectual property licensing businesses in the global and Chinese markets.

The investment consortium signed a Stock Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Wemade Chairman Park Kwan-ho on June 30. Following procedures required to close the transaction, including the payment of the remaining balance and regulatory approval, all procedures are scheduled to be completed by October 30. Once the procedures are finalised, the investment consortium will secure the position of Wemade's largest shareholder with a cumulative stake of 40.25%.

Wemade stated, "The investment consortium, which has become the new largest shareholder, plans to build a system capable of responding more strategically to various risks based on its rich understanding and experience of the local market and industry," adding, "They will focus on rolling out publishing businesses in the global and Chinese markets and expanding multiple business opportunities, including the core IP licensing business."

Wemade also added that with an emphasis on stable business operations and continuous growth, the company will closely cooperate with the investment consortium to faithfully proceed with related procedures, and that the core businesses and organizational operations currently underway will continue according to existing plans without a hitch.
