NHN announced on August 22 that its Texas hold'em style mobile poker game, Hangame Royal Hold'em, is teaming up with Bithumb to host the 6th Hangame Poker Tour (HPT). This tournament boasts the largest prize pool in its history, sitting at a hefty 2.2 billion won. The HPT is split into an online satellite tournament based on Hangame Royal Hold'em and an on-site offline tournament. Bithumb is hosting the event, SOOP is handling operations, and the prize money will be paid out in Korean won through Bithumb accounts.

The online satellite tournament runs for 69 days from September 18 to November 25 within Hangame Royal Hold'em. Players can jump straight into the tournament five times a day (at 5:30 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:30 PM, 10:00 PM, and 11:30 PM) without any separate application process to score tickets for the offline tournament. Each satellite tournament allocates 29 offline tickets, with ranks 1 through 20 grabbing one ticket each, and the top 9 securing an extra ticket on top of that.

Players who manage to secure their tickets through the online satellite tournament can head over to the offline tournament taking place at S-Factory, a multi-cultural complex in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, for four days from November 26 to November 29. The main event DAY1 of this offline tournament has been expanded from two days to three, giving players more breathing room to pick their schedules. Entry requires two tickets, and players can jump back in during the DAY1 schedule by coughing up the same number of tickets.

Those who survive the three-day main event DAY1 will battle it out for a massive 2 billion won prize pool in the main event DAY2 grand finale on November 29. On top of that, a side event dubbed 'Super Stack' will kick off on the final day of the tournament. The 'Super Stack' features a 200 million won prize pool, and players can join in using just a single ticket.

Choi Young-doo, head of NHN's Mobile Webboard Business Group, stated, "For this 6th installment of the HPT, we have expanded the online satellite tournament operations and the main event DAY1 schedule so that even more hold'em players can comfortably take a shot at the offline stage." Choi Young-doo added, "We genuinely hope players will showcase the skills they've honed in Hangame Royal Hold'em right there at the S-Factory venue in Seongsu-dong."
