Arc System Works Asia has announced that the RPG Shinmok no Cliffer is scheduled for release on September 24. The title will land on a variety of platforms including PS5, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, accompanied by a commemorative social media launch event.

Shinmok no Cliffer is set in Shibuya, Tokyo, in the aftermath of a 'World Collapse' where reality erodes and bizarre entities known as 'Aberrations' infest the streets. The narrative follows two protagonists, Hizuki Rena and Hoshigami Soma, both infected with Aberrations themselves, as the pair chase down the mysteries behind the phenomenon. As the player steps into the shoes of the main duo, the journey involves tracking down the illicit narcotic 'Tiny True' spreading across the city, the body-modifying patterns known as 'Stigma', and a secretive cult pulling strings from the shadows, all while facing off against formidable foes to unravel the truth behind the world's metamorphosis.

The game positions itself as a 'Tactical Counter Timeline RPG', boasting a distinct battle system where chaining skills efficiently across a flowing timeline deals massive damage to enemies. While it might trick the eye into looking like a straightforward action RPG, the developer implements a fresh spin on command-based combat mechanics. Players must strategically counter incoming enemy attacks by leveraging counter skills categorized into Red, Blue, and Yellow types. The timeline displayed in the center of the screen tracks the activation timing and types of skills for both allies and enemies, forming the bedrock for tactical planning.
