Square Enix's flagship RPG series, Final Fantasy, is heading towards its massive 40th anniversary with a grand orchestral tour.

'Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY' (hereinafter Distant Worlds) announced the schedule for the Seoul stop of its world tour via its official X on the 2nd. Distant Worlds is an ensemble founded in 2007 dedicated to performing various musical pieces from the Final Fantasy series.

Marking the 40th anniversary, this world tour is an orchestral performance showcasing masterworks arranged for orchestra by iconic Final Fantasy composers, starting with the original composer Nobuo Uematsu, alongside Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Yoko Shimomura, and Masayoshi Soken. To heighten immersion, the performance will feature custom visuals produced directly by Square Enix.

Grammy-winning conductor Arnie Roth will lead the orchestra, choir, and performers. In addition, associate music director Eric Roth, known for his work on the Nier Orchestra Concert Tour and other projects, brings his expertise to the arrangements and overall production. The tour will span the globe, kicking off with its premiere performances in Tokyo, Japan on March 20 and 21, 2027, and wrapping up with a show in Indianapolis, USA on March 25, 2028.

The performance in South Korea is scheduled to take place in Seoul for two days on October 30 and 31, 2027. Specific venue details will be announced at a later date. Certain program segments will feature special guest appearances on stage to amp up the entertainment factor. Ticket reservation dates and information will also be revealed later.

Meanwhile, to celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, the Final Fantasy series will roll out a variety of IP-wide events both domestically and internationally, including a museum exhibition.
