NetEase Games and its subsidiary studio Everstone Studio are set to roll out a brand new themed region, Qingzhou, for their wuxia epic Where Winds Meet on August 15.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of "Shan Hai," where majestic mountain ranges collide with the untamed sea, this area pushes your jianghu journey further east while serving up fresh exploration hooks. Unlike the craggy mountain zones we have seen before, Qingzhou blends rugged peaks with coastal vistas, all wrapped in a culture deeply rooted in Confucianist philosophy.

When the region unlocks on August 15, you will kick off your travels from the eastern peaks, hoofing it up mountain paths blanketed in pine forests across vast mudflats where the Yellow River shakes hands with the ocean. Come August 29, the mist-shrouded island of Penglai opens its doors, letting you chase down hidden tales tucked away across the water and inside coastal academies. Qingzhou is billed as the warmest welcome you will get anywhere in the jianghu, complete with locals who will actually point lost wanderers in the right direction and throw down alongside you when things get hairy.

A brand new faction, the Wenjinguand, is crashing the party too. Rooted in a thousand-year tradition of thinkers, the Wenjinguand places its bets on debate, art, and music. Inside this faction, you can dive into "Duel of Wits," a card-based debate PvP mode. It is pitched as a battle of wits where you crush opponents using sharp tongue-lashing, clever proverbs, and psychological warfare. Best of all, you can take part in Wenjinguand shenanigans as a guest scholar without ditching your current faction, letting you dabble in everything from exam proctoring to kicking back on the farm.

We are also getting a brand new weapon type: the "Silk Drum," which mashes up the dramatic rhythms of classic court dance with martial arts flair. Using flowing ribbons, spinning footwork, and drumbeats, the Silk Drum delivers a support-focused combat style. Those graceful ribbons can crack enemies across the jaw or tie them down to dish out stun and silence debuffs, while beating the drum buffs up your allies.

Qingzhou is also packing three new world bosses to test your mettle. Get ready to throw down with the "Wave Watcher," who rides bamboo stilts and wields flower spear techniques; the "Raft Elder," busting out staff forms from atop a wooden raft; and Zhu Yinghan, the chief of the Hanglong Village, who brings some seriously flashy hacky-sack skills to a knife fight.
