Graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA is rolling out an upgraded DLSS 5 model that doubles processing speed across major games.

On the 13th (local time), NVIDIA unveiled a performance-boosted new DLSS 5 model alongside a lineup of upcoming titles set to feature it. DLSS is NVIDIA's AI-driven resolution-scaling graphics technology, which has steadily captured market share by being integrated into over a thousand games across eight years. By lightening hardware load while delivering photorealistic graphical quality, NVIDIA continues to drive the mainstream adoption of rendering technology.

This upgraded DLSS 5 model makes its debut in NBA 2K27 on August 16. Having first introduced the tech last month, this title sees frame rates surge by up to 1.4x across GeForce RTX 50 series, Spark laptops, and the cloud-based GeForce NOW service, with future supported games shipping with this model built right in.

Next up, Hogwarts Legacy—having shifted over 40 million copies—gets DLSS 5 on November 5. Hogwarts Legacy drops players into the 1800s wizarding world as a fifth-year transfer student for a magical romp. Alongside DLSS 5, the update introduces DLSS Neural Rendering and bumps other DLSS tech up to their latest versions. Developer Avalanche Software has reportedly rolled up their sleeves to tweak the SDK directly, ensuring their distinct artistic flair stays intact while pushing gorgeous visuals.

On top of that, Everstone Studio's Where Winds Meet has a DLSS 5 feature update slated for late November. Where Winds Meet is a martial arts open-world RPG that has reeled in 100 million players worldwide. The update brings DLSS Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution support, with DLSS 3D Guide Neural Rendering slated to drop down the line.

Meanwhile, through an app beta update, NVIDIA announced a fresh frame generation performance mode tailored for GeForce RTX 40 and 50 series as well as RTX Spark laptops, while also showcasing DLSS 5 implementation examples for both the Fallout 4 RTX project and Softsound's Mirror's Edge RTX project.
