In what the publisher calls a grand celebration of the game's second anniversary, this update aims to smooth out the rough edges of card collection and battling with a slew of shiny new features.

The 'Dual Fusion' expansion brings fan favourites like Pikachu and Charizard back to the table with a twist, introducing the very first 'Dual Type' cards boasting two types simultaneously. Headlining the set are heavy hitters such as Mega Mewtwo X ex, Mega Greninja ex, and Mega Dragonite ex, alongside Pikachu ex, Fuecoco ex, and Mew ex. If nostalgia is more your thing, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise are also turning up with fresh illustrations just to tempt your wallet.

There is also a brand-new special pack called 'First Partner' designed purely for the collectors out there. You will find special cards featuring the starter Pokémon from all nine regions of the Pokémon series. You can crack these packs open using a dedicated power that recharges every week, guaranteeing a rare card in every single one-card pack. To make battling a bit more welcoming for everyone, the developers are introducing 'Rental Decks' packed with Pikachu ex, Mega Mewtwo X ex, and Mega Greninja ex, plus an 'Elite Deck' granting access to Mega Rayquaza ex, meaning you can jump straight into a scrap regardless of your collection.

And if building a deck feels like absolute rocket science, a new 'Someone's Deck' feature lets you inspect and copy popular loadouts from friends or random players. On top of that, private match rules are getting tweaked, trading and sharing features are seeing improvements, and the maximum limit for saved My Decks is going up. The game remains free-to-play with optional Monetization.

Looking further ahead into November, the calendar fills up with the 'Dual Fusion Emblem Event', a 'Bonus Week', and battle events tied to the first volume of the Promo Card Pack C Series. Notably, November 1 will see a fresh collection file and collection board featuring Mega Greninja. On top of all that, a new 'Limited Battle' mode will restrict decks to specific cards, while December brings the global 'Rank Match Season C1' where you can test your mettle against players worldwide.
